1  PAUL, AN apostle (special messenger) of Christ Jesus (the Messiah), by the divine will (the purpose and the choice of God) to the saints (the consecrated, set-apart ones) at Ephesus who are also faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus:2  May grace (God’s unmerited favor) and spiritual peace [which means peace with God and harmony, unity, and undisturbedness] be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.3  May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!4  Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.

V3 says that God has blessed us in Christ, with every spiritual blessing through the Holy Spirit. Every spiritual blessing! None are withheld from us. He uses the Holy Spirit to bless our lives with the spiritual blessings.

V4 – He chose us before the foundation of the world. The bible is truth, all of it. I need to actually believe that God chose me before the world was even brought into existence. This is difficult to get my head around, but it is truth! He picked me out for Himself as his Own. He picked me out. He loves me, not only loves me,  but wants me to be his. He wants me to be Holy, consecrated and set apart for Him. He wants me to be blameless in his sight. When he looks at me, he desires that I am without blame.

He wants me to be above reproach. Above reproach means that I am above disapproval, or blame, disgrace. How can I be above reproach? Only through His strength. He has done it all through the work of Christ on the cross. I just have to accept what he did and that I am justified through His grace.
