“I want you to be all mine, filled with the Light of My Presence. I gave everything for you by living as a man, then dying for your sins and living again.”
Christ has done His part, completely. He also gave us a free spirit to make choices. He knows His Presence, it is His! He also knows how we would be converted if we experienced His Presence at all.
We often feel that we are ashamed to come to Christ due to our weaknesses and wrongdoings. Think of it like one of your children. If they do something bad, what is our thoughts towards the child when they come and confess. Sure there is discipline, but there is a compassion from us if there is a spirit of a broken heart, a heart that truly desires to not repeat the wrongdoing. It is no different with God. He is there to comfort us when we repent and change our ways to follow Him. He longs for His Presence to be in our lives. He knows how much we would change if we obtained His Presence everyday. It is there for us to grab, He freely gives it.
“Seek my face with a teachable spirit” We need to understand that we are not above learning more from Christ. We always have so far to go, no matter how far we have come, because of our bend toward selfishness.
It is fairly simple … God works through a humble spirit. Why? Because a humble spirit is one that knows what a sinner he is, and that he deserves death. He is grateful for what Christ has done to Him, and knows his successes in life are no of his own doing, but that of Christ in his life.
Psalm 100:4 – Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.
