Hope is the golden cord connecting you to heaven. Without the cord of hope, your head may slump and your feet may shuffle as you journey uphill with Me. Hope lifts your perspective from your weary feet to the glorious view you can see from the high road. When you consider the radiant destination, the roughness or smoothness of the road ahead becomes much less significant. I am training you to hold in your heart a duel focus: My continual Presence and the hope of heaven.
Romans 12:12 – Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.
Hebrews 6:18-19 – So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
Hebrews says that hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. An anchor keeps the ship firm in a storm. So hope is an anchor for our souls keeping us strong in the storm, but not only that, it is a strong and trustworthy anchor. It can be depended on, and is strong.
What hope are we talking about? It is the hope of God’s promises. Throughout the bible, we find God making promises to us. We hold onto those promises in the hope that He is faithful to His children, and His word.
When we find hope in God, the troubles we are encountering become much less an issue to us because obtaining hope changes perspective.
The only way we can have hope of heaven is to read and learn about it, through the scriptures, quiet time, etc. It ALWAYS takes some effort on our part, God probably will not just endow us with blessings when we have a selfish mindset. He can (as He can do anything), but the principles of God dictate differently.
