LINGER IN MY PRESENCE A WHILE . Rein in your impulses to plunge into the day’s activities. Beginning your day alone with Me is essential preparation for success.
When I sit down to spend time with Christ, sometimes it is difficult to settle down and just relax. This is one of the reasons that I believe it is critical to spend time first thing in the morning. If you let things get rolling, it is that much more difficult to stop and give God the attention he deserves.
A great athlete takes time to prepare himself mentally for the feat ahead of him before he moves a muscle. Similarly, your time of being still in My Presence equips you for the day ahead of you.
Being still in His Presence. This is one of the things that is so interesting when spending time with Christ. It is the stillness that is not so easy to do. I believe that it will become easier to do once you get used to it, at least it has become somewhat easier for me, but it did not come quickly or easily.
We aren’t used to being still, for anything. Our minds are moving all of the time. Even when we go to sleep, there are things that occupy our minds such as television. I believe it is difficult to have quiet time these days with all of the technical connections. That is why pulling away during the best times of our day is so critical.
Only I know what will happen to you this day. I have arranged the events you will encounter as you go along your way. If you are not adequately equipped for the journey, you will grow weary and lose heart. Relax with Me while I ready you for action.
Enlightenment here. Christ knows ahead of time what twists you will face today, nothing is a surprise for Him. Because of this, if there is a curve in the upcoming path, He will prepare you ahead of time IF you take the time to connect with Him. This is incredible insight in one of the benefits of seeking His Presence. Regardless of what you day throws at you, He can prepare your heart for what is going to happen. He loves you and regardless of what happens, He desires for you to grow through the day and become stronger through any trials you face.
Preparation becomes critical, and preparations doesn’t happen without time, quiet time allocated to God.
