2 Corinthians 12:9 – His grace is sufficient for you.
Grace is the ability to put one foot in front of another when you cannot see any way possible. To keep going despite nothing having changed. To keep moving in the direction where God has lead you. It is strength to move ahead.
We are all about giving God glory when things have gone our way, when we have successes in life, we gladly point upward and give God glory. This is easy. All of those listening to us acknowledge our acknowledgement of God’s power in the situation.
What about when things have not gone our way, do we question God? Do we question God’s actions, or lack of actions.
God desires us to give him glory in our weaknesses, not only our successes. Think back to those times when you knew of someone going through an incredibly difficult time in their life. They had strength that had God written all over it. There was no way that their own strength allowed them to have an optimistic attitude, it was only God! What did that do to you? It brought a new level of understanding of God’s presence regardless of the situation. It gave you an understanding of God’s grace and peace. These people are the strongest believers you have ever met.
God will/has/is going to showcase His strength in our weakness if we learn to take “No” as an answer. It has nothing to do with His love/compassion/presence. His strength in your weakness is His presence in your life.
Read 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
It is not a lack of faith to ask God to remove our thorns .. God has permission to say “No”. God may choose to showcase His power/strength on the stage or our weakness.
It may never change/get better/work out – but that is never a reflection of God’s distance.
